Quiksilver
Client Profile:
QuikSilver is an internationally known surf apparel company. They design, produce and distribute clothing, accessories and related products for young-minded people and develop brands that represent a casual lifestyle-driven from a board-riding heritage. Quiksilver's authenticity is evident in its innovative products, events and retail environments across the globe. Quiksilver's products are sold throughout the world, primarily in surf shops, skate shops and other specialty stores that provide authentic retail experience for their customers.
What We Did:
QuikSilver selected PhD Computing to develop an e-commerce engine for their event sites. Through the event sites, they wanted to sell limited edition apparel related to these special events. The events are held regularly throughout the year for various reasons, so each event site requires a unique look, feel & integration of the online store.
We developed an e-commerce engine that is based on a template system that can be re-used and graphics re-applied for each event site. It is modular enough that we can relocate items on the page, or remove/add features to provide a seamless custom integration for each event site.
In addition, we developed an administration component that allows for tracking of product inventory, statistical reporting, adding/removing/modifying products as well as customizing each event site as needed. This powerful e-commerce engine has served their needs well, and allowed QuikSilver to grow its business in yet another successful direction.
